I'd recommend using Illustrator to split the E, then saving an eps and placing it in InDesign. It's a lot easier to manipulate text that way. Convert the text to an outline and convert the stroke to an outlined path as well, then use the pathfinder "Divide" tool to split the E. Hope that helps!
Also, you made some nice changes from the earlier compositions you posted. I enjoy the slight left shift of the hair tangle. Since the tagline text acts as a vertical line, I wonder what the stroke you have under it would look like reversed out in white so it's not competing with the text... just something to try.
