Eraserhead poster

This is what I have so far. I have a few different color combinations for each but I'm not sure which direction to go in from here. What do you guys think? -Christine

  1. I love these posters. I think the first one is really really successful, because to me it is the easiest to read as, but also very visually engaging. The second is also very engaging. The last one is also very nice, although I feel like the information could be presented in a little bit of a better way, besides the title of course.

Do you have any files of hand done text you might have done?

  2. I do, although I'm having trouble incorporating the hand drawn text into them while still keeping them unified. I'm going to work more today and i'll post more variations before thursday.

  3. I think the second version is really eerie and successful in terms of atmosphere. I'd love to see you add some detail or nuance to the imagery to support your concept. It feels like it needs another element to really work.

Your type is nice. Too nice for Eraserhead! This could use a nice range of exploration.

Also, really explore how color could work for you once you get some compositions you're happy with. I like the radiator imagery, but it feels much too heavy in both iterations you've posted.

Good work so far, keep pushing your concept!

  4. I'm really enjoying the clean layout of the first poster, but I don't think that it alludes enough to the ugly, bizarre style of the movie (which the second captures well). Nice use of the halftone. One idea that just came to me was that the radiator also kind of looks like Henry's hair in the movie... don't know if you can do anything with that. Looking forward to seeing your hand drawn text!
